Love is in the air: Get lost in romance – Find beautiful together

I’m a romantic at heart. I believe in kismet, whirlwind romance and love at first sight. In the spirit of:

romance;
a lead-up to wedding bell season;
and sparking a few romantics into THE epic proposal, anniversary or honeymoon

I met my soul mate by complete chance, while standing in line at a Toronto hotdog stand at the corner of Queen & John St. It was World Cup fever in early July.

He was visiting from Ireland. I was on a ‘girls night out’, a prelude to a 10 km jaunt I was undertaking next a.m. (hence, I shouldn’t have been dancing or buying ‘street meat’).

It was hot. The streets were electric. His accent had me at ‘Hey, Want a hotdog?’

Seven months later, and several mid-Atlantic flights, Mr. Irish flew to T.O. for a weekend and proposed on Valentine’s Day– at the top of the CN Tower (to an Irish guy, it’s not cheesy, it’s epic). By the time I was telling my co-workers on Monday morning, he was already back in Dublin, another heart-wrenching airport farewell complete.

We set about deciding who would move where and how our life would unfold. Nothing else really mattered, as long as we were together.

Romance matters. It’s work, albeit, important work. Although I didn’t know this before three children and 13 years of marriage — and we’re still laughing.

Now we embark on East Coast Glamping, a company embodying all we love about life, travel and love. Living freely, breathing deeply and experiencing ‘slow travel‘ whether you’re with your partner or your family; at a campground or in your own garden.
