Turns out, moose are everywhere along the Cabot Trail:
One of our prerogatives this past glamping weekend, while fall camping in Cape Breton, was to find a moose. We heard it’s not uncommon to see these beautiful, ginormous mammals, roaming the highland plains of Cape Breton Highlands National Park. So we set our compasses to ‘moose’ and off we trekked…

Just not the ones we wanted to see. Those allusive moose, But it’s never the end find that’s our treasure. The hunt made for an exciting day of exploration, moose jokes and laughs… for our a’moose’ment of course!
It’s the journey.
The bog trail in National Park where all the moose meet-up for poker and a pint.
Twice around the bog to be sure. Once at mid-day and then again at dusk on our way back to camp.
Found….something. Two dragonflies.
Pretty sure there are 11 over there.
Not ‘mooo’ving until we see one.
Delicate ecosystem and earthy wind-whipped bog grasses.
Getting ridiculous?
Moose shadow shapes
Long and winding road. Spectacular.
Taking in the views.
Lunch
Lunch pitstop at Rusty Anchor.
Perhaps they’re in the woods along MacIntosh Trail?
Found a waterfall.
Happy Glamping!
The road back to camp and a perfect sunset.
